Ophelia Spencer, MACP, BA. Psych., RN, RTC of MMcFarlane Counseling Services has been counseling children
, adolescents, and adults for 14 years in the community, hospitals, and on crisis lines. As a Registered Nurse from the St. Boniface School of Nursing in Winnipeg, MB, she began her career as a caring individual dedicated to helping others.
She later earned a B.A. Psych degree at The University of Winnipeg, MB and obtained a Certificate in Leadership/Management from McMaster University, Hamilton, ON. Her Master of Art in Counseling Psychology degree is from Yorkville University, Fredericton, NB. Today, her education continues as an enrollee at McMaster University.
She has a strong ability to listen. She is also compassionate, understanding and is not judgmental. Her strong medical knowledge as a Registered nurse makes it possible for her to be of additional support to clients whose psychological disturbances may be secondary to such medical issues as cancer, dementia, Parkinson, or other chronic medical illnesses.
